Who Are We

At the conclusion of purchase of a device from Fountain Circle Medical Suppliers, it is not the end of road between us and the patient. We try to form long lasting relationships with all our patients. Something that the industry tends to miss is the fact that no patient’s sleep disorder is the same, however much alike it may seem.

Here at Fountain Circle Medical we understand this and are aware and very sensitive of the individual needs of every patient and understand that there is no such thing as a “one size fits all” solution for CPAP patients.

As patient compliance is a major concern for us, we like to walk a road with our patients to maximize the patient’s benefit of CPAP use and to iron out any kinks in the the road to successful treatment.

With hands on expertise in CPAP, Bi-Level and Servo Ventilation as well as in the fitment of masks and supply accessories, we will be able to accommodate all your CPAP requirements.

Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP therapy)

The golden standard for treatment of sleep apnoea is with a device called a Continuous Positive Air Pressure device or commonly referred to as CPAP. CPAP consists of a small flow generator that blows air into the airway at a high and constant pressure via a comfortable mask worn either on the nose or the nose and mouth.

This constant flow of high pressure air in the airway ensures that the airway is fully supported during the breathing cycle. The effect of CPAP therapy can often be seen quite dramatically. The patient can usually feel a difference in the amount of energy that they have the following day. Insulin sensitivity increases after about two evenings of sleep. Stabilization of hormone levels like HGH often leads to weight loss.

What is sleep apnoea?

Sleep apnoea (also spelled apnea) is a condition that belongs to a family of sleep disorders called sleep disordered breathing. Sleep apnoea can further be subdivided into Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, Central Sleep Apnoea,Mixed Sleep Apnoea and Complex Sleep Apnoea. Apnea is defined as a period in which a person stops breathing for 10 seconds or more. Obstructive Sleep Apnoea is caused by an obstruction in the airway.

During this period there is a dramatic decrease of oxygen levels in the blood. This causes the body to secrete adrenalin which temporarily raises the heart rate and blood pressure to compensate for the low oxygen levels. This is a rescue reflex but unfortunately leads to fragmented sleep architecture which results in a lack of deep sleep.
